Faisal (Founder)We opened a branch in Dubai. Do we need to register for VAT there?
Midday accountantNot yet: your UAE revenue is below the mandatory registration threshold (AED 375,000). We're tracking it and will alert you before you cross it.
One of our co-founders is a foreigner living in Dubai. Does that change anything in our returns?
M
Midday accountant
Yes: his share of the profits is subject to income tax instead of zakat, so you'll file a mixed zakat-and-tax return. We've added it to your compliance calendar and will prepare it.

Who prepares and reviews my books and returns?
Every return goes through three stages: prepared by the Midday accounting team, reviewed by a senior reviewer, then approved by a licensed chartered accountant.
When is the zakat return due?
